Ok so we now have 53 days left in the Air Force and we are getting SO anxious to get out! We thought that having a light at the end of the tunnel would make it easier, but alas, that is not the case! It is even harder! Now we just feel like we are in limbo! lol.
DH accepted a great job doing contract work for the Army in WA state and we are excited to be going back to the NW! We wanted OR, but we will settle with WA. Anything is closer to family at this point!

I am seriously trying to keep this updated, but man life keeps happening! I now have a widget so I am hoping that it will be easier to just type updates in quickly as they happen!!!YAY
I have finished Little Miss M's sweater and one for the Bobo. They are ok, I can really tell that I am a new knitter :) I have started a pair of socks! It has been fun so far, a little frustrating at times, but fun. I have been using the Magic Loop method, 2 socks on 1 needle and I have to say that it is the closest to instant gratification that you can get with socks! lol

VACATIONS!!
We just returned to Terciera Island from our first vacation in an entire year!
It was a great trip, and we were able to see most everyone. Which in turn made it a very busy, long trip!
We started out by taking the rotator from the island to BWI. The flight was ok, VERY long with the time change! When we were taxiing at BWI, Jacob was looking out the window at how big the airport was and just talking to himself saying "WOW! We really are in America now!" We had to laugh!
We then were met by friends at BWI and drove the rest of the way to Philly that night, got up in the am and went to the Philly airport to catch our first flight to Portland. Actually we had a layover in Atlanta for a few hours, so then the flight to PDX. We arrived in Portland around 6 pm West Coast. So not too bad! Will post pics here shortly!

Updates...
Well, we still don't have our car repaired from the accident in December, and not sure when they will be finished with it! NICE!
My DH is in the hospital right now getting the results from some tests that he had done to see why his arm has been going numb, and they found that the above mentioned accident has given him 3 herniated discs and 1 chipped vertebrae and 1 compound fracture in a second vertebrae . So much for the optimism! We now have 466 days until separation! WOHOO! Can't wait to go home!

HoHummm
It has been over a month since my last entry, I guess that I just don't have much to say.
Nothing much new here, 17 months till we are out of the AF and I don't know if I can last that long! It just seems that everytime we turn around, something goes wrong!
We found out that the parts for our car MIGHT be in on Monday, and our rental runs out on Saturday. Being as how we are in Portugal, the Police wouldn't take Dev's info, so according to the other guys insurance, we are at fault, and there is nothing we can do about it!
At the same time we have been trying to sell a car for a friend, and that may have sold as well, which would leave us completely without a vehicle!
Ain't life in the AF GRAND!
We are still trying to move on base and we are still not getting the right answers, so it is looking like we won't be moving closer until September!
Yes I am being pessimistic today! I have the right, if you know our family then you understand where I am coming from! lol
Ok there is some good news, Devin has been given the opportunity to go to Russia and teach Stress Management to a bunch of Brass, so that will be very cool, fingers crossed for that one!
Michaya's 4th birthday was Feb. 9 so here are a few pics from the party.
Signing off for now

Andrea and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day...
I think I'll move to Oregon.
January 16, 2007 started out pretty good. Jacob got up on time and got dressed with out complaining, I made him eggs for breakfast and he got to play a little bit of Xbox before the bus came. That is where it all goes down hill......(yes, I actually made a pun! you’ll see in a moment)
I took Jacob up to the bus stop at the top of our driveway, which is pretty steep and dark at 7 am. The lights are burnt out and I can’t figure out how to change them and I would have to get Portuguese light bulbs, so we make do. Also, we are waiting for the Landlord to come and fix 2 huge potholes in the drive, there are big chunks of gravel and cement all over, not very safe. Well, I am walking down the hill and trip on some gravel, roll down the hill and skin up my hands and knees pretty bad, and tear a hole in my jeans. Now I am just really upset because 1.) I am hurt 2.) I can’t call Devin and cry to him because he is in a meeting 3.) My best friend is gone and 4.) I TORE MY FAVORITE PAIR OF PANTS!!! Now, most of you are probably thinking, “why doesn’t she just go get a new pair?” I will tell you why, BECAUSE THERE AREN’T ANY TO GET! I found them at Costco last summer just before we moved and they don’t carry them at this time, and even if they did, I couldn’t “just run to Costco and pick them up!”
After a while I do calm down and get it together, after all it is just a skinned knee and hands.
I decide to play WoW for a bit and I am in the middle of a battle and the power goes out!!! Most of you know that if you live off base your power does that quite often. OK well I will just wait it out and it comes on shortly after, cool. I start to play again and it goes out again! Alright, I will get Michaya some play-dough and we will play together. I walk into the kitchen and slip in a puddle of water that the washer has leaked all over the kitchen floor for the 5th time, and land on my hands and knees AGAIN!
This is just not my day. I think I’ll move on base.
I finally get to the computer and decide to email Devin and just cry. What a sensitive Hubby I have he was very comforting and loving (as much as you can be in an email) and then he tells me that his boss, who decided to leave in March instead of July, (and screwed up our plans to go home), decided to take leave in February. Again, she screwed up our plans to visit home. So I am just not in a very good mood. Then after I read that email, we loose internet! That is it, final, we are moving on base. When the internet comes back I email Devin and tell him to get us on the list for moving on base. The next email that he sends me is going to make some of you on the West Coast VERY happy, he states that they are bringing in a new Social Worker in May or June, and they will be a Major. Which means that Devin will not be Flight Commander (again) and we will NOT be staying in the Military, in 18 months we are moving HOME!
A little later I get to call my friend and tell her all about my Terrible, Horrible, no good, Very bad day.
I think I will move to Oregon.
Devin then calls me on the phone and says “ I found these great tickets round trip to Oregon all 4 of us for under 1000.00, but we have to go Jan. 31, and buy the tickets today, which means that we would have to take out a loan until our tax return” I promptly say no. Then I call my friend again and she says “ are you smoking crack! you need to get home for a visit!” Ok so I call Devin and say ok see if you can get the time off. He emails me back and says “what were we thinking? I can’t take that off, I have a class to teach!” Also, we got our names on the list for housing on base and the wait is about 6 months.
I am beginning to wonder if anything else can go wrong on this day, I actually made the mistake of saying it out loud! My friend warned me about that, and guess what, it got worse!
I called my mom and she told me that my Grumpa was in the hospital with a fluid on the kidney and then they found blood in the urine, and the Dr. is now concerned for infection-!!
I am going to move to Oregon.
It is now 6:45 p.m. my time and I am now not so sure that much could go right at this point.
Fortunately, nothing more goes wrong. Thanks be to G-d! I don’t think I could have handled any more!
I sit down and pick up my knitting and reflect on the day, and nurse my hand and knee, and remind myself that everyone has a Terrible, Horrible, no Good, Very Bad Day at many points in their lives.
Even in Oregon.
But we are still moving back.
